Our board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Nicholas Sieveking, offers both silicone and saline breast implants in a variety of shapes and sizes to help you achieve your goals. Dr. Sieveking is highly experienced with breast augmentation procedures and can help you add new contours and fullness to the breasts with results that look natural.
Benefits of Breast Augmentation Surgery
Breast augmentation surgery can help you attain a breast size that is more proportionate to your body frame, accentuating the size and contour of your breasts. The goal of breast augmentation surgery should not just be enlarging the breasts, but improving proportions so that the breasts enhance the overall appearance of your silhouette.
Breast implants are available in a number of sizes, shapes, and types. Dr. Sieveking will go over all of your options at your initial consultation, and show you a variety of breast implants. Together, you and Dr. Sieveking will talk about the advantages and disadvantages of all types of implants and come up with the best options for you.
The Breast Augmentation Procedure
Breast augmentation surgery can be performed in a number of ways, depending on your individual needs and goals. An incision can be made in the armpit, the crease where the breast meets the chest, or in the areolar area (the dark-pigmented region that surrounds the nipple). Dr. Sieveking will talk more with you about these options at your initial consultation and help you determine the best placement for your needs. Once the incision has been created, Dr. Sieveking will place the implants either directly behind the breast tissue or behind the chest muscle. The exact placement of the implants will also be discussed at your consultation to determine what is best for your goals. Dr. Sieveking will work diligently to ensure that any residual scarring is as minimally visible as possible.
Some bruising and swelling in the breasts will be present after breast augmentation surgery. A compression bra worn for a few weeks after the procedure should facilitate the healing process. You should be able to resume normal daily routines within one week; however, Dr. Sieveking will advise you to avoid strenuous exercise or heavy lifting for several weeks after surgery.
