At Sieveking Plastic Surgery, our board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Nicholas Sieveking can help patients address pigment changes or brown spots to even out their skin tone and improve overall confidence in their aesthetic appearance. Most commonly Dr. Sieveking will use broadband light (BBL) to treat areas such as the face, neck, chest and hands.
The BBL procedure is noninvasive and typically requires very little downtime or recovery. Discomfort during the procedure should be minimal, so Dr. Sieveking does not generally use a topical anesthetic. The procedure can last anywhere from several minutes to half an hour depending on the size of the area being treated. Our plastic surgeon recommends 2-5 treatments spread over a span of 2-4 weeks depending on the extent of treatment necessary for the desired result.
