Various Benefits of Laser Hair Removal Treatments:
Approved by the FDA for permanent hair reduction. According to The Mayo Clinic, lasers can reduce hair counts 40% to 80%. Facial hair on women is often lighter and finer than on the body, and this hair may not respond as well to the laser because it targets pigment (color) in the hair follicle.
We utilize the Sandstone™ Cheveux™ 810 Diode Laser with Smooth Flow technology to provide safe and effective laser hair removal for patients of any skin type. The Cheveux™ is designed to cover larger treatment areas while increasing patient comfort by delivering cooling sensations directly to the skin throughout the procedure. While this is the most effective Laser technology available today for fair removal, it is the most comfortable as well – it truly does not have to hurt to work. Additionally, the Sandstone™ Cheveux™ Diode Laser can be calibrated to deliver energy at different rates and pulse widths based on each patient’s individual needs, hair type, and skin color.
*When is it best to have Laser first?
Laser works best on areas where hair is darker in color and has a higher volume of growth. After having a series of laser treatments the hair growth will be reduced to the point that we can dramatically reduce the remaining sporadic hairs.
How many Laser Hair Removal treatments can be done?
At any given time, 20-40% of the hair in a particular area may be in a growth phase. Therefore, more than one treatment needs to be scheduled, preferably at 6-8 week intervals (typically 3-5 treatments, depending on the individual’s response to laser and the amount of hair to be removed). With multiple treatments we can ensure that all hair follicles are being disabled. Most patients experience 20%-40% hair reduction with each treatment.
Procedure: The laser targets the darkness of the melanin pigment in the hair follicle. Patients experience a series of pulses as the laser targets the area to be treated.
Duration: Treatment time will vary anywhere from 10 minutes to 90 minutes dependent on your desired treatment area.
Anesthesia: There is no need for a topical anesthetic. While everyone’s pain tolerance is different, the majority of clients do not think laser hair removal is painful.
Recovery: Laser hair removal is a ‘lunch time’ procedure. There is no recovery or down time, although the area treated may experience a slight redness that should subside within an hour of the treatment. Patients may return to their normal activities immediately.
